Spreading Joy

My cardiologist, Dr. Thomas Heywood, had the job of informing me that I needed a heart transplant.
He plays on my silliness when he treats me after the surgery.l
Thank you, Dr. Heywood and my huge medical team. LIFE IS GOOD!
While Dr. Heywood played the primary role during Linda’s congestive heart period, he was just one part of her heart story. Dr. Rubenson and the Scripps Green Hospital medical team were there in 2004 when Linda had an abnormal reaction to a drug used during open heart surgery and the complications that followed. Linda has fond memories of her 9 weeks in the ICU, surrounded by competent, friendly and funny hospital personnel. Laughter was her medicine of choice!
After learning she needed a heart transplant, Linda was introduced to the amazing Sharp Memorial Heart Transplant team. Dr. Jaski, her transplant cardiologist, with his caring and knowledgeable nurse practitioners, and Dr Adamson, her chief heart transplant surgeon, skillfully led her through the life-saving New Heart Adventure. There are not enough words to express the gratitude and love Linda feels for her heroes at both hospitals! Three months after the transplant, Linda had and “I’m OK” party. Her scrapbook and souvenirs were on display.
